Friday's Flowers, The Cactus Version

So I'm a day late. Shoot me.

The cactus in the front yard has bloomed for the last couple years. We had three or four blooms earlier in the summer, the usual time it happens, but I didn't think we'd seen the last of the blooms. With all the rain we've had, somewhat more than usual, it became apparent this week that we were in for a record-busting bloom. Last night it happened. Nine huge flowers blooming at once, a record busting display. Too bad the blooms last for less than twenty four hours.

The night shot, somewhere around four thirty Friday morning.

And the day shots, a couple hours later.

And that's it for another year.
